| Reunion 2 After the overwhelming
reaction to the original school reunion, which for me was probably the strangest party of
2001 and my highlight of the year. It seems that 2006 for a formal reunion is
too far away for most of you.
Therefore, we would like to announce our plan for an informal gathering on Saturday
20th April 2002 at the Haystack Pub, Canvey Island from 8pm GCT. (General Canvey Time).
I for one, will use the night to talk to all the people who I missed the first time
around.
It would be great to see as many of you there as possible and please invite your
friends and partners if that takes your fancy.
No cost, No forms, No chase up phone calls, but please, somebody bring a bloody
camera!!!!
Reunion 1
As many of you know The Cornelius Vermuyden School - Class of 1986 had their 15 year
reunion on the 9th November 2001. The venue was the Oysterfleet Hotel, Canvey
Island, Essex.
How was your hangover?

Judging by the feedback that we have had so far we assume that the reunion evening was
a success and we are glad that so many of you could make it and that you all enjoyed
yourselves. For us personally it was well worth 4 months of solid effort, with
countless hours spent on the telephone, internet and knocking on doors.
For me personally (Lee), this was one of the highlights, turning up on peoples door
steps and saying "Hello, are you interested in a school reunion" and then
counting to 10 whilst they tried to clock who I was. Thank you to all those who invited me
in for a cup of tea (especially Gavin and Christine, at least 6 cups), I had about 40
reunions before the big night and I enjoyed every last one of them.
I have updated the pupils page so that you know who attended the reunion on the night.
Thankyou to the teachers who attended, I hope you had a good time. Mr and Mrs
Davies, you guys haven't changed a bit!
Around 100 of us found our way to the venue on the night for our first ever Alcohol
Fuelled School Disco. The night started at 7:30 pm and rocked on until 1:00 am.
And judging by some of the emails we have had, there were some serious hangovers
the next day.
My only regret during the entire evening is that I never managed to talk to everybody
there. It seems strange to not see someone for 15 years, see them, then all of a
sudden the night has passed and you still haven't spoken.
What Next???
I think Carl and I need a rest for a few weeks, not to mention a change of subject
matter for our otherhalves, who we'd both like to thank for being so understanding during
the last 4 months, but rest assured we will be beating the reunion drum again. We
will endeavour to track down the 30 or so from our school year we never managed to contact
and to arrange another reunion in the future.
When, we can't say (2002, 2006, 2011), anyway it shouldn't be us that should be
deciding this anyway, please send us an email letting us know when you'd like another
school disco. I vote for next and every week. info@cv86.co.uk
Lets do it again and soon!!!!

"What a night!
It was amazing to see so many old faces from school again - it was all a
bit overwhelming at times and it all went too quickly! I'm sorry I didn't get to
speak to everyone on the night, but thank you for all your messages of thanks for a great
night, it made all the hard work worthwhile. For those who didn't come, you missed a
fantastic night and hope we will see you in 2006! Keep visiting the site for updates
and gossip. thanks to everyone who made the night so special.
Keep in touch.
